Team Kitwe welcomes youngest member!

BALTIMORE, MD - Noah Judson Speedy, born June 16th 2010 at 06:28am, 8lbs 4.8oz. Up until now the team has been Pastor Adam Speedy, wife Melinda, son Micah and assistant Pastor Emile Kisimba. But now we welcome our 5th team member Noah Judson Speedy!

Another miracle child... Noah was born with the chord wrapped 3x around the neck (an improvement on Micah's 4x!). He is doing just fine. (See picture, taken this morning, just minutes after birth).

Noah plans to be involved in pioneering a mother's room during church services!

The Team In The Zambian Copperbelt
The vision for the Zambian Copperbelt was born out of missions trips to "the north", with bus loads of
students. Pastor Scibelli, international missions director for GGWO, has been doing these since 2006 to the city of Ndola, 1-2 times a year. They are a great time with the leaders from Lusaka, fellowship, biblical leadership training etc.

During the evangelism on such trips, the vision for this fertile region, with its 5 cities near the Congo border, was born.

Pastor Emile, from the Congo, and a recent graduate from Lusaka, when he heard we were praying about starting something there, was the first who said he would like to join the team in 2009.

By the summer, we moved up and upon returning from Convention 09, began the work, initially in Ndola, but after 2 months, moved to Kitwe as our new, more strategic base of operations. Since then, God has added some key men, disciples in Kitwe, as well as others from other cities.

The number of nearby cities, and students from them has helped us last month to secure a Bible College dorm.

We have been especially blessed by the response of Chingola. God has added a key contact from this most northern city (45 min from Kitwe), with a group of 35 men who are eager to learn the Word of God.

Families In The Heavenly Vision
The missionfield has proved to be great for the family. Melinda and Micah (who came as a baby) participate in most of the daily activities, evangelism, visitation, trips and classes, as they are able.

People really love the children and love the idea of their children playing with the foreigners'.
Pray for our family as we plan to return this summer, as soon as we're able to do so.
